Prague declared the best European destination for university students

According to a recent ranking compiled by Campus Advisor, a consulting organization in the field of higher education, Prague is the best university city in Europe.

The study examined 50 European student cities, evaluating a range of key factors, including nightlife, safety, cost of living, academic environment, public transport, cultural diversity, and services. The Czech capital, in particular, scored particularly high in categories related to entertainment, services, and public transportation. According to students, it is the entertainment opportunities and the accessibility of public transport that make Prague an attractive destination for student life.
Brno, the second-largest city in the Czech Republic, also performed well, ranking 13th in the list.

The study is based on reviews provided by students who have lived and studied in these cities. The opinions reflect direct experiences regarding housing, student life, and social activities, thus offering a comprehensive view of what it means to be a student in major European cities.
What pleasantly surprised those studying in the Czech capital is certainly the availability and accessibility of countless services, including venues, shops, museums, restaurants, cafes, and parks. The city is indeed a hub for nightlife in Central Europe, offering young people a plethora of recreational activities. In short, Prague is a city where it is truly hard to get bored!
Public transportation and a high level of safety are also strengths of the city.

Prague, which hosts around 45 public and private universities, has outperformed prestigious cities like Manchester and Dublin, ranking 12th in the category related to education quality. 

Despite its numerous successes, Prague has not excelled in all categories. In the “cost of living” category, the Czech capital ranked 16th. In fact, cities such as Krakow, Budapest, and Warsaw proved to be more affordable.
Moreover, in terms of cultural diversity, the city did not reach the top of the ranking, placing 19th. Although it does offer a diverse cultural context, it was found to be less multicultural than cities like London or Berlin.

The study also aimed to highlight some of Prague’s most important attractions, emphasizing the National Gallery museums and the historic Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace. The so-called “beer spas,” original wellness centers where visitors can relax in beer baths, have also become one of the city’s most popular points of interest. These places combine tradition and leisure, attracting both tourists and students seeking a unique experience.

This is not the first time Prague has achieved excellent positions in rankings dedicated to student cities. In 2022, Campus Advisor had indeed ranked the capital as the seventh-best student city in the world.

In conclusion, Prague confirms its attractiveness as a destination for university students from all over the world, thanks to a balance between a rich cultural environment, economic convenience, and quality of life. With a safe and vibrant atmosphere, the city continues to stand out as a benchmark for those seeking a comprehensive and rewarding student experience.
